For some products i use a Y ax on my lathe.

It’s very handy and it’s not so expensive. ( i’m a dutchman ;-)

I buy this Z ax on
www.buitelaar.nl for 200 Euro ( ok you can make it by your own, but at that moment i was lazy ;-)
